Grant Jeffries

Photographer

Grant Jefferies, a Manatee County native and nature and landscape photographer, honed his photography skills as a photojournalist for more than 34 years.  After retiring as Chief Photographer for the Bradenton Herald, he focused his camera on documenting the area’s natural beauty, with a particular eye toward sharing the dwindling resources across Florida and the efforts to conserve the state’s finest treasures. He has documented life in Manatee County, and across the country well as abroad in Cuba, Haiti,  Italy, and Colombia S.A. for which he won several awards. Grant has lectured  at the The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature  and  led workshops for local photography organizations.

He exhibited his work in two exhibits at The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature:  “A Walk in the Park,” focusing on  Manatee County nature preserves and “Florida Features,” featuring photographs of the area’s endangered birds.  Jefferies  has been featured on WEDU’s ARTS Plus (http://video.wedGu.org/video/2365852741/).

Jefferies currently lives in Manatee County with his wife, Toni. They enjoy sailing, music, traveling and taking care of their two dogs and two birds.
