Eric Austin

Eric Austin started his photography career in 1996 as an intern for a portrait studio in Sarasota, FL. Specializing in boudoir and beach portraits. Here he learned to hone his posing and lighting skills. After his internship he went to the East Coast School of Photography in North Carolina and then the PPA School of Photography in Atlanta Georgia. After returning from school, he started working for a commercial photography studio in Sarasota where he remained for several years before opening his own studio, Palm Coast Photography (Renamed LightWorks Photography in 2006) in 2000. His studio provides family portrait services and commercial photography services. During his time as a photographer, he has done work for Nordstroms, Abo Gear, Lakewood Ranch Sports Assoc., S&S Motorsports, Glass Creations, Applebee’s, and many more. He also photographed many subjects for magazines such as: Sarasota Magazine, Scene, Iron Horse, Jam, Longboat Observer, East County Observer, Back Country Hiking, and several more. Over the years he has photographed over 300 weddings but has since backed out of the wedding industry. Commercial photography has always been a big part of his business. He has photographed many cars, motorcycles, trains, and products. In the past five years he has also started providing drone photography services and has earned his FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone Operator License. Teaching has always been a big part of his career and he currently teaches Photoshop and photography classes. He is a member of the PPA and Adobe Certified in Photoshop.

In his free time, he enjoys underwater photography while SCUBA diving and photographing landscapes and models in infrared, both B&W and color. It is the fantasy feel and look that attracts him to this style. He has traveled all over Florida photographing ghost towns of the past and kayaking the back water of the Everglades. These images have earned him several awards for creative photography.

His studio website is www.lwdigitalphoto.com and if you wish to see his personal IR work it can be seen at www.theviewthroughmylens.com .
